Reflection on volunteer at Crossroads

9/11 volunteer at Crossroads
After the slum lunch stimulation, I was completely exhausted with little strength left. I, however, had signed up for the volunteer work in the afternoon. So, I told myself ‘do as much as I can’ even with little strength left.

I found out I am a self-motivated person with a caring heart. In the soap packing area, volunteers need to weight 15kg of soap then pack it so that the crossroads can ship it to the places in need. After cleaning the kitchen, my arms were out of service, but I reminded myself, the quicker I do, I can help in areas ; and the better the packing, the people can ship it easily and the people in need can use it much earlier. at that moment, i was just thinking to use all my strength and do my best to help them , so that the people in the cross road can save more strength to do some other things. I think volunteer works is about your willingness to help others and your self-motivation. People can do nothing during the volunteer sections and claim they have done volunteer work. No one will challenge them, but is this the way to help ours? Is this the way to make a better place? This volunteer work reminded me no matter how difficult it is, we have to keep a strong mind to keep motivation in order to proceed. Motivation is not enough, intelligence is also important. During the volunteer work, we had limited resources to do plenty of things. So we need to keep in mind that use our brain to solve difficulties instead of keep doing it in a stupid and time wasting way. In university, for example, we often encounter different obstacles when we do group project or do math question. but no one talks you we must do this in this way , so we should make good use of our brain and think of a new method and solve the problem.
